Description

Delight in these crispy and sweet Air Fryer Pineapple Cream Cheese Wontons, a perfect appetizer or snack combining creamy cheese with juicy pineapple, cooked to golden perfection using the air fryer for a healthier crunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Wonton Filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup crushed pineapple, well-drained
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)

Wontons

  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • Small bowl of water (for sealing)
  • Cooking spray or a light brush of oil

Optional for Serving

  • Sweet chili sauce
  • Honey
  • Extra powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, crushed pineapple, and powdered sugar until smooth and well combined.
  2. Assemble the wontons: Place one wonton wrapper on a clean surface, spoon about 1 teaspoon of the filling into its center, dip your finger in water and lightly wet the edges, then fold diagonally into a triangle or bring all corners to the center to form a pouch, pressing edges firmly to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. Preheat and prepare air fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes and lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  4. Arrange wontons: Place wontons in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, leaving space between each. Lightly spray the tops of the wontons with oil to promote browning.
  5. Air fry the wontons: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes or until golden brown and crisp, flipping halfway through cooking if needed.
  6. Serve: Serve the warm wontons with sweet chili sauce, a drizzle of honey, or dust with powdered sugar to add extra sweetness.

Notes

  • Ensure pineapple is well-drained to avoid soggy filling.
  • You can freeze filled, uncooked wontons and air fry them straight from frozen—just add 1–2 minutes to the cook time.
