Description
This Air Fryer Chicken Breast recipe offers a quick, healthy, and flavorful way to prepare tender, juicy chicken breasts using simple seasonings and the convenience of an air fryer. Perfect for an easy weeknight dinner, it delivers a delicious main course with minimal prep and cook time.
Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Prepare the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry thoroughly using paper towels. This helps the seasoning stick and promotes browning. Rub both sides of each chicken breast with olive oil to keep them moist and help the spices adhere.
- Season the Chicken: Evenly sprinkle garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper over both sides of the chicken breasts, making sure they are well coated.
- Cook the Chicken: Place the seasoned chicken breasts in a single layer in the air fryer basket to allow hot air to circulate around each piece. Cook for 9 to 10 minutes, then carefully flip the chicken breasts over and cook for an additional 8 to 10 minutes.
- Check Temperature and Rest: Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature in the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C). Once done, remove the chicken breasts from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the meat tender and juicy.
- Serve: Slice the chicken breasts against the grain and serve immediately as a main dish or use in salads, sandwiches, and more.
Notes
- Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken breasts and your specific air fryer model.
- For even cooking, try to select chicken breasts of similar size or pound them to an even thickness before seasoning.
- Letting the chicken rest before slicing ensures maximum juiciness.
