Description

Festive red, white, and blue cookies perfect for celebrating the 4th of July, packed with colorful sprinkles and a soft, chewy texture.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the sprinkles and white chocolate chips, if using.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Do not overbake to keep the cookies soft and chewy.
  • You can chill the dough for 30 minutes for a thicker cookie.
  • Use gel food coloring if you want to tint the dough itself for more color.
